HENRY WISMAYER is a freelance writer based in London. His essays, features and commentary have appeared in over 80 publications, including the New York Times, New York Times Magazine, Washington Post, Washington Post Magazine, Financial Times, The Atlantic, The Guardian, TIME Magazine, Wall Street Journal, Aeon, National Geographic, Noema, Outside, Vice, Vox, and BBC World.

 

He has travelled to over 100 countries on six continents in pursuit of unusual and newsworthy stories (though he knows deep down that he probably shouldn't be counting). His writing has been nominated for a variety of accolades and translated into over a dozen languages. He's still not really sure what he's doing.
