HENRY WISMAYER is a freelance writer based in London.

His essays, features and commentary have appeared in over 80 publications, including the New York Times Magazine, New York Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, The Guardian, TIME Magazine, Wall Street Journal, National Geographic Traveler, The Economist 1843, Outside, Daily Telegraph, Geographical, Vice, Vox, and BBC World.

He has travelled to over 100 countries on six continents in pursuit of unusual and newsworthy stories (though he knows deep down that he probably shouldn't be counting). His writing has been nominated for a variety of accolades and translated into over a dozen languages. He's still not really sure what he's doing.
